Students of the Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee say the school 鈥減rovides a complete education for the future鈥 by 鈥渟tressing the importance of service to the community at large鈥 and providing 鈥渁pproachable, available professors鈥 who 鈥渁re dedicated to helping us learn and succeed in the 鈥榬eal world.鈥欌 鈥淪mall class sizes allow鈥 students to 鈥渞eally know your professors, [and] allow for more opportunities to get involved academically and professionally.鈥 Students praise their professors, saying they 鈥渓ove the level of engagement in the classroom. . . . Each of them know the students well and the material even better. They give a whole new life to the otherwise tedious work and lecture.鈥 And while their 鈥渃lasses may be challenging,鈥 students say that they get out what they put in. Faculty here 鈥渁re all very willing to provide help if needed,鈥 and 鈥渁ll professors are fair in their grading.鈥 Many students found their education 鈥渧ery applicable to real-life situations.鈥 However, some complain that their professors have been in academia too long and have lost focus on business or career realities and therefore 鈥渄on鈥檛 really make their lessons interesting or relevant to what鈥檚 going on today.鈥 Because of this, 鈥渋n some of the courses,鈥 one business major told us, 鈥淚 feel like I have to teach myself.鈥 Others complain that the science equipment has spent a bit too much time on campus as well: 鈥淭he school could improve by providing more up to date equipment, especially in the science lab where equipment from over thirty years ago is still used when it needs to be replaced.鈥
