MaryEllen Elia '70
New York State Commissioner of Education and President of the University of the State of New York (USNY). In this role, she oversees the work of more than 700 school districts with 3.2 million students; 7,000 libraries; 900 museums; and 52 professions encompassing more than 850,000 licensees. She is the first female to hold this position.
M. Christine Jacobs '72
Ms. Jacobs retired from Theragenics Corporation, a manufacturer of prostate cancer treatment devices and surgical products, in 2013, having served as its Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. She held the position of Chairman from 2007 to 2013, and previously from 1998 to 2005. She was Co-Chairman of the Board from 1997 to 1998 and was elected President in 1992 and Chief Executive Officer in 1993. Ms.Jacobs has been a director of the Company since January 1999. She is a member of the Compensation Committee and the Governance Committee. Ms. Jacobs was the first female chairman/CEO to lead a transfer from Nasdaq to the NYSE and ring the bell on the company's first day of trading.
Mary Ann Esposito '64
An American chef, cookbook writer, and the television host of Ciao Italia with Mary Ann Esposito, which started in 1989 and is the longest-running television cooking program in America. Esposito has published over a dozen cookbooks. On June 2, 2013, a knighthood was bestowed upon her by the President of the Italian Republic under the title Cavaliere dell'Ordine della Stella d'Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy). She was one of 160 people worldwide to receive this honor in 2013, and the only American.
Thomas P. Stewart, PhD '74
Dr. Stewart is the President and CEO of Stewart Consulting. He has held various executive positions in the Medical Device Industry over the past 30 years while still maintaining an active academic career. Most recently he was the Vice President for Clinical Affairs for the Stryker Corporation's Medical Division and the President and Chief Clinical Officer of Gaymar Industries. He is currently serving as the chair of the Daemen College Trustees.
Susan Falsone '96
Head of Athletic Training and Sport Performance with United States men's national soccer team. She was the first female Physical Therapist in MLB. Head Athletic Trainer for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Claire E. Starkey '81
President of Fintrac Inc. since 1990. From points east and south, follow NYS Thruway 90 to Buffalo, take Exit 50, Rt. 290 toward Niagara Falls (also called Youngmann Highway). Take second exit (Exit 7A), Main Street WEST. Follow Main St. WEST for about a mile and a half to the Daemen campus on the right. From Canada, Hamilton or Toronto areas, take QEW Niagara through St. Catherines. Take the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge Exit (Route 405), cross the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge into the US. Take the 190 SOUTH and cross over Grand Island (2 bridges). Take 290 EAST to the Main St. WEST exit (Exit 7A). Follow Main St. WEST about a mile and a half to the Daemen campus on the right. From Fort Erie: Cross the Peace Bridge and take 190 NORTH. DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS TO CAMPUS
From points east and south, follow NYS Thruway 90 to Buffalo, take Exit 50, Rt. 290 toward Niagara Falls (also called Youngmann Highway). Take second exit (Exit 7A), Main Street WEST. Follow Main St. WEST for about a mile and a half to the Daemen campus on the right. From Canada, Hamilton or Toronto areas, take QEW Niagara through St. Catherines. Take the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge Exit (Route 405), cross the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge into the US. Take the 190 SOUTH and cross over Grand Island (2 bridges). Take 290 EAST to the Main St. WEST exit (Exit 7A). Follow Main St. WEST about a mile and a half to the Daemen campus on the right. From Fort Erie: Cross the Peace Bridge and take 190 NORTH. Take the 290 EAST (last exit before Grand Island Bridge) to the Main St. WEST exit (Exit 7A). Follow Main St WEST for about a mile and a half to the Daemen campus on the right.
