Graduate Programs Fuel Careers

Molloy offers a variety of graduate and doctoral programs that provide the opportunity for students to further enhance their career or take a new direction while pursuing a passion. The College's graduate programs include a variety of MBA options, as well as programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Criminal Justice, Music Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Education and Nursing.

What's New

Molloy, founded in 1955 by the Sisters of Saint Dominic in Amityville, NY, and home to approximately 4,900 undergraduate and graduate students, recently opened its new facility at 50 Broadway in lower Manhattan. The space serves as the new home of the nationally-ranked Molloy/CAP21 B.F.A. in musical theatre, and also hosts other academic programs and special events. Additionally, Molloy recently opened its newest residence hall, the College's third.

In Fall 2020, Molloy will pilot The Experiential Academy. This two-year program enables students to fulfil their entire general education requirements through hands-on, active, in-the-world learning. A unique opportunity, this program meets only one day a week on campus and uses online modules and assignments to create flexibility in the learning environment. At the end of two years, students will have completed an Associate's degree and have the opportunity to transition into most majors at the College.

The School of Arts and Sciences at Molloy College and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at St. John's University have teamed up to provide accelerated pathways for students to achieve their Master's degrees. The alliance permits students across 14 academic disciplines in arts and sciences at Molloy College to earn two degrees in five years, a Bachelor's degree from Molloy College and a Master's degree from St. John's University.

The College continues to expand its flexible learning options for many of its programs, so that students can take evening, weekend, hybrid or online classes. Some of Molloy's newer offerings include an online MBA, as well as a new degree completion program that will enable returning students to easily complete their undergraduate degree.

With more than 4,900 undergraduate and graduate students, Molloy has something for everyone. There are more than 50 academic programs, approximately 60 clubs and honor societies, various service opportunities and NCAA Division II athletics, providing abundant opportunities for each student to not only strive for academic excellence, but also explore new interests, pursue athletics and enrich our community.

Although the “majority of the people commute� at Molloy, this does not seem to detract from the sense of a “very tight knit community� and “friendly environment.� At Molloy “Working parents fit in well and we have a very culturally diverse campus.� Many students at the commuter school may also fit the description of “a hard-working Long Island kid, juggling school and work and a life.� While it seems that “majors mostly stick together,� students proclaim that “All the students here are extremely friendly� and that “Students are accepted here with whatever they bring to the table.� Even though “a lot of people tend to go to class, study or hang out on campus and then go home,� students note that “there are always opportunities to meet new people at events, clubs, or through mutual friends if you stick around after classes.�

As a largely commuter school, there’s a sense at Molloy that “there isn’t really any college life there.� Students point out that “Life in school is very basic if you are not involved in a team or club.� According to one student, “Since many people commute to and from campus, the party scene tends to be at the sports houses and clubs in the surrounding towns.� This social dynamic may change with the addition of “new dorms that house about 200 students.� Another game changer is the new “student center known as the public square.� “Right now, a simulation room is being installed in the Public Square so that students can play video games on their free time on campus.� Until that day arrives, there are “book sales, holiday galas, special dinners, clubs of all kinds, sports, art events, presentations at the new theater, and…a variety of community services� that can keep students entertained. Students also attend rugby or basketball games and take advantage of the “free shuttle that goes to the mall and back on weekends if you live on campus.�
