The California University of Pennsylvania is a small campus that offers students 鈥渢he tools and opportunities to be successful鈥� in their chosen field, which includes small class sizes and 鈥減lenty of resources around campus 鈥� whether you need an essay revised or tutoring.鈥� Programs praised the most include Education, Criminal Justice, and Biology. But regardless of discipline, the school 鈥渉as a great environment for studying, and the faculty and staff are pretty great.鈥� In fact, the professors are almost universally heralded as 鈥渧ery passionate and well-versed in their given area.鈥� As one student explains, 鈥淭hey make sure they give you the support and aid you need to succeed in and out of the classroom.鈥� To that end, 鈥渢hey cover the content students need but also apply their own personal experiences, which helps [the class] understand and connect with the content.鈥� By making 鈥渢he material interesting to learn no matter the workload,鈥� students find it easier to succeed in class.

Some at Cal U may seem more interested in the social scene than academics, but this is really an extension of many enrollee鈥檚 鈥淒o-It-Yourself type of mentality.鈥� That is, 鈥渋t all comes down to how hard you want to work鈥� to determine your success on campus. Regardless of the path you choose, 鈥渆veryone is always so nice and courteous to one another. With a student body that is 鈥渟o kind and welcoming,鈥� it鈥檚 no wonder attendees use words like 鈥渨onderful,鈥� 鈥渇un,鈥� and 鈥渆xcellent鈥� to describe the vibe on campus. Additionally, many praise the diversity present here, which is amplified by having 鈥渟o many 鈥� people from all over the world鈥� enrolled. You鈥檒l also find students have a broad range of interests 鈥渇rom athletes to artists, and more.鈥� This helps the campus feel 鈥渋nclusive and inviting to all.鈥� As one student sums it up: 鈥淚t is nice to be 鈥� here and see everyone moving towards their goals, [still making] time to come together for school-held events.鈥�

At Cal U, the days are 鈥渦sually very busy,鈥� with most students focused diligently on studying. But when students are not hard at work, 鈥渢here are a bunch of activities鈥� to occupy their time, and one need only travel as far as the student center where 鈥渢here are many things to relieve stress,鈥� including free movie screenings, a pool table, and pianos. Those looking to make more of their experience have plenty of options as 鈥渁lmost everyone is involved in some sort of club鈥� at Cal U. And don鈥檛 worry about lack of variety, either: 鈥淭here are [so] many clubs here鈥�, but if there is something else you would like to do it is very easy to create your own organization.鈥� Plus, those clubs aren鈥檛 just for fun鈥攖hey also 鈥渉elp you build your knowledge for your career.鈥� Outside of organizations, some claim that 鈥渋f you do not get involved with activities on campus, then you will be bored.鈥� But others disagree: 鈥淭here are all kinds of shows, concerts, and gatherings 鈥� on campus at all times, so you never know what鈥檚 next.鈥� And even if some 鈥渃hoose not to completely fill their time and would rather just relax,鈥� they note that 鈥渋t鈥檚 quite fun no matter what you do.鈥� Overall, it seems Cal U has it all: 鈥淭he campus is beautiful. The dorms are amazing. And it鈥檚 close enough to Pittsburgh to take a day trip,鈥� even if that does mean 鈥渘eeding to drive 20+ minutes.鈥�
