01. Overview

What the school is known for:

Rowan University is a large and prominent public research university located in the heart of South Jersey. Students emphatically cite quality teaching, made possible by the ardent dedication of an accomplished faculty, as Rowan's greatest strength. "The professors absolutely make Rowan. Every single one genuinely cares about his or her students and has a passion to teach." That extra mile of interest does not go unnoticed: "I love the way my ... professors supported me through this journey." Rowan offers over 90 majors, not just in the traditional areas of study, but also innovative fields such as bioinformatics, supply chain and logistics systems, jazz studies, inclusive education, and exercise science. For those still undecided, the Exploratory Studies Program offers personalized attention, advice, and assistance from faculty and staff as students explore their academic and career options. Rowan prides itself on such support, which also ranges from tutoring to success coaching to the ASCEND program, which caters to students who are challenged by educational, cultural, or economic circumstances. "Being an international student sometimes can be difficult, but having the confidence that your school has your back and understands you is the best feeling and helps you to keep going and give your best."
