Education is at the core of the curriculum at Texas College— not only in providing a well-rounded education for enrolled students, but in preparing many to be educators themselves. In addition to an associate degree option in Early Childhood Education, the college also offers an interdisciplinary Educator Preparation Program that provides numerous learning opportunities outside the classroom with the goal to create the most qualified teachers upon graduation. Students in this program have the chance to interact in two organizations on campus, the Association of Childhood Education International (ACEI) and the Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society. In addition, EPP participants have numerous chances to meet with principals, local school district superintendents, and accredited teachers to learn one-on-one from those that excel in the field. Finally, Texas College offers an Alternative Certification Teacher Education for those who have a bachelor’s degree but are looking to be certified educators.
Another option for busy adults already well into their careers is the SUCCESS program, which offers the chance to earn a special degree in business administration. In total, the college provides 12 baccalaureate degree programs, including Criminal Justice, Mathematics, Social Work, and Computer Science, among others.
