01. Overview

What the school is known for:

Those attending Trine University don鈥檛 hold back in claiming that their school 鈥渞eally cares about student success.鈥 In fact, as one puts it, 鈥渆veryone from housekeeping to the president loves talking with students and getting to know them on a personal level.鈥 A few words used to describe the classes at Trine include 鈥渆ngaging,鈥 鈥渁mazing,鈥 and 鈥渆xcellent.鈥 Academics are presented in a 鈥渧ery relaxed atmosphere with small class sizes鈥 that helps 鈥渄ecrease your chances of falling behind.鈥 But some of that credit should also be given to Trine鈥檚 鈥渁ccessible,鈥 鈥渧ery personable,鈥 and 鈥渒nowledgeable鈥 professors who are 鈥渁lways available outside of class and willing to help or clarify anything you need.鈥 Moreover, they truly know how to 鈥渕ake class fun.鈥 As another explains, 鈥淭he most positive thing about this university is the immense care that professors put into their students鈥 futures.鈥 Overall, 鈥減rofessors are here to see you thrive and want nothing but the best for you.鈥

06. Student Body

What students say:

The student body at Trine describes itself as 鈥渇airly conservative, rural-America type students in a very relaxed atmosphere.鈥 Day-to-day, you鈥檙e guaranteed to see 鈥渓ots of smiles around campus.鈥 Of course, since the school is fairly small, 鈥渆veryone knows basically everyone,鈥 which certainly helps to keep the vibe 鈥渧ery friendly.鈥 The size of the school also means it鈥檚 鈥渆asy to get to know students in classes that you have together.鈥 Undergrads are also apt to describe their classmates as 鈥済enuine,鈥 鈥渙pen-minded鈥 and 鈥渃lose-knit,鈥 and they note that 鈥渁nybody that you go up and talk with is very social and approachable.鈥 Overall, 鈥渋t鈥檚 easy to find your group of people here at Trine.鈥

08. Campus Life

What students say:

鈥淭here鈥檚 always something going on鈥 at Trine University, so you鈥檒l never be at a loss for things to do. To begin with, the 鈥渟chool offers lots of clubs鈥 that allow you to 鈥済et highly involved in many things.鈥 While it鈥檚 no secret that 鈥渇raternity and sorority life is huge at the university,鈥 a multitude of other options range from religious organizations to academic clubs, which makes it feel like there鈥檚 something for everyone. And even if you鈥檙e not a part of an organization, you can 鈥渁lways [find] an event going on somewhere on campus,鈥 including movies, bowling, or even visiting hypnotists. Because of the 鈥渓arge population of student-athletes,鈥 it鈥檚 also quite common to find people practicing or working out in the gym during their free time. And if campus life isn鈥檛 offering enough, students can always head to 鈥淧okagon State Park to hike the trails, go to Ft. Wayne to watch Komets hockey games, or shop in Angola.鈥 Finally, it鈥檚 worth noting that while some students acknowledge that 鈥渢he party scene dominates Trine鈥 when it comes to late-night activities, others note that they are 鈥渇un and relatively safe鈥 and that 鈥減eople don鈥檛 pressure you鈥 to attend if they aren鈥檛 your scene.
