Worcester State is an 鈥渆xtremely welcoming and open-minded鈥� institution that quickly 鈥渇eels like home鈥� to its undergraduates. Much of that can be accredited to professors who 鈥渢ruly care about student learning.鈥� While some allow that faculty can be 鈥渉it or miss,鈥� the majority of comments describe teachers as 鈥渁mazing,鈥� 鈥渦nderstanding,鈥� and 鈥渨onderful resources.鈥� With true 鈥減assion for what they do as well as a lot of knowledge of what they鈥檙e teaching,鈥� the faculty truly 鈥渂ring the material to life鈥� and are 鈥渨illing to assist above and beyond what is needed.鈥� Add 鈥渦nique, authentic, and very original鈥� professors to a school with 鈥渧ery affordable鈥� tuition and you鈥檝e got 鈥渁 fantastic academic experience鈥� that will 鈥渃hallenge and lead you to think outside the box.鈥�

Worcester鈥檚 student body is 鈥渟mall enough so you can get to know many of the students.鈥� And while the student body may primarily be 鈥渕ade up of commuters,鈥� you鈥檒l definitely encounter undergrads 鈥渇rom all walks of life鈥� who are 鈥渧ery open and accepting.鈥� It鈥檚 not rare to find 鈥渟ome who have dropped out of more prestigious institutions and others who are giving schooling a second shot.鈥� Regardless, the school 鈥渉as a very diverse student body, and no matter their situation, students describe their peers as 鈥渉ard working鈥� and 鈥渆ager to better themselves and their communities.鈥� They 鈥渉ave a drive to succeed and are always there to help anyone do well as a team.鈥� Even better, 鈥渢here is a strong sense of belonging and kindness that comes from the student body.鈥� The overall vibe from the school comes from the small things: 鈥淲hether it be as simple as holding a door open or as complex as tutoring a classmate there is a feeling of 鈥榳e鈥檙e in this together.鈥欌��

Because the students at WSU are 鈥渢ypically driven by their studies, [they] spend a good amount of time on academics.鈥� But they also set aside plenty of time for fun. For starters, 鈥渢here are always things happening in the student center if you want an organized activity,鈥� some of which include cake decorating contests, karaoke, and paint nights. It鈥檚 also common for undergrads to participate in the 鈥済roup exercise classes offered multiple times a day.鈥� Outside of structured options, many students enjoy going to the gym or even just 鈥渄own to the turf [to get] a couple miles in.鈥� Speaking to the quality of on-campus dorms, one student notes that many 鈥渟pend their time doing the exact same thing: enjoying free time with friends in their suites, just relaxing after a long day of classes.鈥� Finally, when the weekend rolls around, 鈥渟tudents throw parties [on] campus or they go out with friends or take trips to Boston.鈥�
