Campus Life

Students Say

The student body is 鈥渋ncredibly diverse鈥 and 鈥渧ery accepting and supportive.鈥 One student says that fellow classmates lean 鈥渕oderately liberal as a whole,鈥 while another describes it as 鈥渁 nice balance of liberal and conservative鈥 viewpoints. The mix of 鈥渧arious political backgrounds鈥 helps 鈥渃reate interesting discussions鈥 and 鈥渕ost students get along well.鈥 It can get 鈥渁 little competitive,鈥 particularly in the first year, and becomes 鈥渕ore relaxed鈥 in subsequent years. However, the competition doesn鈥檛 come 鈥渁t the expense of relationships,鈥 and overall, it鈥檚 a 鈥渧ery friendly鈥 environment.
UHLC has 鈥渟o many clubs and organizations to choose to join鈥 and you can find something that fits your interests. Also, 鈥渟tudent organizations and the school bring in a variety of lunchtime speakers that offer networking opportunities and free food,鈥 offering more opportunities for students to connect and socialize. Students praise the 鈥渂rand new and beautiful鈥 law building, which has 鈥渧iews of the downtown鈥 and a rooftop 鈥渨here students can meet with faculty.鈥 Students also enjoy the city of Houston, which is 鈥渄iverse, full of great food, and ripe with culture.鈥
